Forum Registration Wall - an update

Hello all,

First of all, happy new year! We hope you have had a restful and enjoyable festive period!

We are sending this message as we wanted to let all members know about changes coming up on the forum over the next few weeks. As you may remember, we have been looking into the possibility of removing the registration wall from the forum for a while now. This was as a result of feedback we received that needing to register to view content on the forum was a barrier for many to joining our community.

Our aim for this forum community is to enable as many people affected by blood cancer to benefit from connecting with others but the registration wall may be a barrier to that. Following feedback from members here, and conversations as a team, we have agreed that the best step is to move forward with taking the registration wall down. Our time frame for beginning this process is the week commencing 20th January 2020.

What this means is that except for the category for those who have been bereaved by blood cancer, the forum will be publicly viewable which we hope means many more people visit the site, see the valuable conversations taking place and decide to become a part of the community, as in order to post anything on the site, members will need to sign up and register.

We will of course continue as a team to be present on the forum to ensure the forum remains a friendly, safe and welcoming place to visit.

For you as a members, next steps are thinking about your profile and whether you would like to make any changes to protect your identity such as removing your name from your username or any other identifiers you wish. To do this, click on your initial in the top right hand corner, click your username and you’ll see ‘preferences’ where you can make any profile or account changes.

If you have any difficulties with updating your preferences, or have questions around this process then please do get in touch with our support services team on 0808 2080 888 Mon-Fri 10am-4pm (Weds 10am-1pm) or via support@bloodwise.org.uk

Many thanks,

Dawn
